- everyone agreed this is something that would be very helpful in providing information University wide and answering questions

3. discuss narrative description of measure 7, "staff effectiveness through
automation" (40min)
Sue:
- As UA strives to improve, streamline business practices of the university, automating repetitious processes are a key component. The ACAS is recommending such items as electronic timesheets.......online registration.
- With these improvements, the basic infrastructure of core staff will require retraining.
Jean:
- What processes are not automated that affect staff effectiveness?
- Concerned about the impact of automation on retaining staff.
- Possible metrics: identify staff retrained, promoted, moved due to automation.
Barb:
- The HR section of the ACAS report lists processes that are candidates for automation.
- Concerned about the impact of automation on retaining staff.
Liam:
- It's obvious we are all having problems wrapping our head around this idea. There's just not enough information to get an initial grip.
* Contact Gwen/Pat and elicit more information about the definition of this measure.
* Invite Gwen &/or Pat to a PBB Committee meeting between today and the next regularly scheduled meeting.
