Sample Code Repositories

Description

"Sample code repositories" were initiated by the HPCMP Baseline Configuration (BC) project.

Borrowing from the BC's wording, ARSC "maintains a user-accessible Sample Code Repository of frequently-used procedures, routines, scripts, and codes on each allocated unclassified system. Users of all skill levels can use the samples in the Repository to find best practices for various situations. The samples will be especially helpful to new users."

At this time, a code repository is set up for both midnight and iceberg.

Locating the Sample Codes

The repositories themselves are system-specific, and only accessible to active users of the given system. The environment variable SAMPLES_HOME points to the top-level directory containing the repository. To start exploring it:
  1. log on to the system
  2. at the prompt type:

Contents of the repositories, on-line

An index of each repository is available as news samples_home on the systems and on-line for both midnight and iceberg.
