NCAR Graphics

Description

NCAR Graphics is an extensive suite of C and Fortran callable 2-D and 3-D graphics routines, accessible through five interfaces. It includes support for a variety of functions, including reading/writing IEEE Fortran binary data, retrieving information from netCDF and HDF files, interpolating from fixed/Gaussian grids to Gaussian/fixed grids using spherical harmonics, interpolating one, two, and three-dimensional random data, and more. It is created and distributed by the National Center for Atmospheric Research. See the web page given below for details.

Usage

Before using NCAR Graphics you will need to set one of the following environment variables, depending on your shell:

(csh)     setenv NCARG_ROOT /usr/local/pkg/ncar/current

(ksh)     export NCARG_ROOT=/usr/local/pkg/ncar/current
