Ghostsript Tools

Description

Ghostscript is a programming language similar to Adobe's Postscript (TM). ARSC has two principal Ghostscript tools:

• gs - the Ghostscript interpreter/previewer executable
• ghostview - X WIndows user interface to gs

Location

   /usr/local/bin

Usage

Run the desired executable from the command line, for example,

   local>  ghostview &

Features

• interpreter of the Postscript (TM) language
• C procedures (the Ghostscript library) that implement graphics capabilities appearing as primitives in the Postscript language
