ARSC operates a five teraflop IBM system, named Iceberg.
All of the nodes in Iceberg are equipped with IBM's Power4 architecture and run the AIX operating system. The batch system on Iceberg is LoadLeveler.
The two p690+ servers are configured as 32-way shared memory systems, ideal for large-memory OpenMP jobs. The bulk of the computing capability, however, is in the p655+ servers. While these servers can be used as small 8-way shared memory systems, they are more typically used for large, multi-node distributed memory jobs.
