What to bring with you

  • Any necessary prescription medicine.
  • Alarm clock.
  • A student ID (for discounted gym membership and using library).
  • TWO forms of photo ID (Student ID, passport, social security card, Driver's license, etc).
  • Phone card (for long distance).
  • Favorite music and a way to listen.
  • Books, movies, and the like.
  • Clothes for ANY weather conditions (from 90F and sunny to 30F and snowy).
  • Sport equipment such as frisbees and baseball gloves (can also be checked out from the dorm).
  • Mosquito headnet if you plan on camping a lot.
  • A good sleeping bag, pad, tent, backpack, and daypack. Tents are available for rental from the Outdoor Adventures office, and are included with most of the tours, but supplies are limited.
  • Waterproof hiking boots and good hiking socks.
  • Rain gear.
  • Water bottle.
  • Sunglasses.
  • If you have something you ‘can’t live without’ please bring it along!
  • Many interns bring a notebook computer for personal use. ARSC provides a desktop workstation (or other system, as specified by the mentor). The dorms and ARSC provides wireless Internet for your use.
  • A great attitude and a determination to combine learning and having fun!
  • Note: There is regular Borough bus service to most points of interest (including shopping and other locations) from the Wood Student Center. You can learn about bus routes online.
