MICHAEL HART
In 1971, Michael Hart invented eBooks when he typed the
U.S. Declaration of Independence on a Sigma V mainframe
computer
at the University of Illinois. He founded Project Gutenberg,
which created eBooks, including the complete works of
Shakespeare, the Bible, and John F. Kennedy's Inaugural
Address. Since
then, more than 16,000 additional eBooks have been created,
representing much of the world's great literature in
more than 20 different languages.
