The three-week Faculty Camp covers topics that include the basics of
programming
high performance computers, familiarization with visualization software, and
an introduction to the use of collaborative environments, such as data
sharing
or the Access Grid Node.
A series of seminars and hands-on experiences, presented by ARSC staff, UAF/ARSC Joint Faculty and current users, provide participants with assistance and expertise while they focus on independent work and self-guided study for individual projects.
Those interested are invited to register by April 1.
By May 1, please submit a short, 250-word description of the skills you want to develop and the project you intend to pursue. This will assist ARSC in organizing events and speakers to address the specific needs of the attendees.
Please submit your text in ASCII or pdf format. Successful applicants will be notified by May 9. Those accepted are expected to participate full-time during the three weeks of Faculty Camp. UA researchers will be compensated at regular salary.
On March 25 a Faculty Development Seminar will be given from 1-2 p.m. in the
Sherman Carter Conference Room, 204 Butrovich. There will be an overview of
the center, with an introduction to Faculty Camp and a question and
answer time.
Snacks will be provided.
