Semester Project Selection DUE 9/18 10 Homework Points will be assigned if it is on time. The first step in your semester project is to select a project to work on. Since it is unlikely that you will have time to develop a significant scientific model in addition to doing the optimization, parallelization, and visualization required this semester, it is recommended that you find an established code to work on. The first deliverable for your project is a brief description of the code that you have selected. It should include a description of what the code does, where the code came from, its current status (i.e. language, lines of code, architecture it was designed for, length of simulations - time to run the code), and any other information you can provide. If you do not have a project available to you. Please see your advisor or Tom as soon as possible to discuss project ideas they can offer. The intent of this assignment is to make sure that you are thinking about your project and are getting an early start on the work for it. This is not expected to be long and detailed; a page or less should suffice.
