ARSC Announces Open Research Systems Status

The Arctic Region Supercomputing Center (ARSC) is pleased to announce a change in the center's account application process. Beginning October 2004 all High Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) resources at ARSC will become open research systems. Potential users will no longer be required to have a National Agency Check (NAC) when applying for an account on ARSC systems. This change should simplify and speedup the application process for University of Alaska Fairbanks researchers and foreign nationals applying for accounts at ARSC. Users will be required to provide proof of citizenship (and current visa, if applicable) and consent to routine standard background checks in lieu of a National Agency Check.

For more information see the ARSC account application or contact ARSC User Services at .
