Alfredos: Zihuatenejo, Mexico

I have been a repeat vistor, stayed at Villas Don Alfredos again in 2004 and 2005 renting directly via www.valleproperties.com.

In March 2000 I stayed in Villas Don Alfredo arranged via zihuatanejo-rentals.com. I am not sure I really want to share this since I would like it to be available when I next go to Zihuatenejo, but Alfredos is a very pleasant, quiet, and economical place to stay. It is slightly out of town but a very reasonable walk (maybe 10 minutes). It is not located along the beach, but at night after the crickets quieted down I could still hear waves rolling onto the beach. Alfredos is located in a relatively quiet area although construction can occur during the day almost anyplace in Zihuatenejo. It is secure with a large courtyard behind a locking gate. Each unit has an open living and kitchen area (also with a locking gate door), it was very nice to be able to cook meals with fresh fish and veggies from the mercado. Like everyplace else, drinking water is provided and unlike many cheaper places in Mexico the shower had hot water and reasonable pressure. Each morning I watched hummingbirds flitting around the hibisci in the courtyard. In the evenings I watched geckos on the ceiling of the living area. I happen to like geckos, especially because they eat bugs (mosquitos were not a problem, but there are some there).

ok, with the gate closed it is a little jail-like:
(but one would only close it at night or when away)
