Angel Creek Rocks are about 50 miles north east-ish of Fairbanks along Chena Hot Springs Road. The hot springs are just a few miles beyond. Chena Hot Springs is a pleasant area, the pool is inside but they do have some out door tubs. I personally prefer Circle Hot Springs (wonderful memories sitting outside at -20F in a 100F pool enjoying snow falling one night and star gazing others... 'tis pleasant in summer, too).
Anyway, Angel Creek is where Kara caught one of her first fish (several years prior to these pictures) and Chena Hot Springs Road area was a favorite camping area for a number of years when Kara was young. The rock formations are climbable with a fairly easy and fun hike (we took a Brownie troop one year... yeah, they took turns being carried piggy-back back). The area is rolling hills and often one sees moose and beaver... some nice beaver dams are visible from the road.
This was in early September 1996, quite pretty (not quite peak).
Kara's friend Briana was with us on this trip, after the hiking we stopped out at the hot springs
(a good idea, eh?).
Yes, below right that is a brush in her hand... teens must do their hair even hiking.
